Pool A:
England
England reached in final of world cup 1979, 1987 and 1992.
They reached 3 times in world cup final but loosed all of them. Yes it is
unfortunate that world oldest cricket playing country couldn't win any of the
cricket world cup title till now but they are still one of best cricket team in
world. England is not going to play any test series so they must be
concentrating on upcoming ODI tri series with Sri Lanka and Australia. England has
hitter like Alex Hales and Jos Buttler but lack of hard hitters in England line
up. Overall it would be surprise if England reached in Final of cricket world
cup 2015.
Bangladesh
We don't think that any team would like to take Bangladesh
as easy because they always surprise who take them as weak team. They had
surprised India in 2007 world cup which lead to the knocked out. But all the 12
one day players have lost and in this world cup there will be lots of new
faces. Tamim Iqbal is unrecognizable but he is best opener for Bangladesh in
current time. Off-spinner Sohag Gazi suspended for illegal bowling action.
Overall Bangladesh will be considered well if they reached in quarter final.
New Zealand
They are very unlucky. New Zealand reached 6 times in
semi-final. It was the semi-final of 1975, 1979, 1992,1999,2007,2011. In 2015
they are co hosting cricket world cup jointly with Australia. In last two year
they won several ODI series but last 2 looses against South Africa shows that
they have lack of depth in batting. Overall they can reach in semi-final.
Afghanistan
Afghanistan is new team playing in 2015 world cup as they
are inspired by Pakistan's cricket world cup win. Afghanistan has confidence by
defeating Zimbabwe twice this year. Overall it will be considered done well if
they can beat any top teams in 2015 world cup.
Scotland
They have lost all groups matches in 2007 world cup. Overall
Scotland's fans will be happy if they can win initial matches.
Pool B:
South Africa
Proteas loosed two big series last year including ICC 2013
Champions Trophy. They had been beaten by England in semi-final. But now they
reached number one in ranking by winning recent series in New Zealand. De
Villiers and Hashim Amla are the two best hitter in cricket world, while Dale
Steyn and Morne Morkal for strong bowling attack. Overall South Arica has lack
of world class all-rounder and very poor record in Cricket World Cup.
India
Two times world cup winner, India is the defending champion
and always considered as tough contestant. But India loose 12 matches this year
and 7 of them were away from home. They have good batsman in their lineup who
can run up to 400 but main problem is with bowlers. Bowlers should keep tight especially
in death overs. Overall India can defend World Cup Champion title.
Pakistan
Pakistan had won the world cup title in 1992 but they are
unsure about Saeed Ajmal, suspended because of illegal bowling action. Another
problem is the fight between Misbah-ul Haq and all-rounder Shahid Afridi over captaincy.
Pakistan will play their first match against defending champion, India. Overall
it will be tough for Pakistan to reach in final.
West Indies
Two times world champion (1975 & 1979) won the series
played against Bangladesh by 3-0. They have also won the first match of ODI
series against India, series cancelled after first match. West Indies have best
world class hitter, "Chris Gayle". Overall West Indies is strong team
in World Cup.
Zimbabwe
After August 2013 none of team of pool B would like to take
this team lightly. In August 2013, Zimbabwe won against Australia by 3 wickets.
After 2011 world cup, Zimbabwe won 10 matches out of 39. So it would be great
if they can beat top teams.
Ireland
Ireland won against the strong teams like Pakistan and
England in recent years. So it would be no big surprise if they could beat top
teams in world cup.
UAE
UAE is coming back since 1996 world cup where they won only
one match against Netherland. In recent, they won 2 out of 5 matches series
against Pakistan. They would like to beat teams like Scotland and Afghanistan.
