ICC Cricket Rules for Number of Players
Cricket match is play between two teams. Each team must have maximum of 11 players. 1 player must be captain of the team.
ICC Cricket Rules for Nomination of Players
Captain of the team must represent 11 players and 4 substitute fielders to the ICC Match Referee before toss. No player of playing eleven may be changed after nomination without consent of opposing captain.
Only nominated 4 extra players can be use as substitute fielders during the match. No one else can replace them without allowance of ICC Match Referee.
Any suspended player cannot be nominate as supporting player or substitute fielder. Suspended player shall not enter playing area of the game.
All the nominated players including four substitute fielders should be eligible for playing that match.
Nominated players must agree to all the ICC code of conduct.
ICC Cricket Rules for Captain
The captain must be nominated member of the playing eleven.
Member of Board must nominate Test Team Captain to ICC when appointed. If there are any replacement regarding Test Team Captain then home board must inform ICC about the replacement.
ICC Cricket Rules for Fielder Absent or Leaving The Field
If a fielder leave the field then umpire must be informed regarding reason of leaving. That player shall not comeback during particular session without consent of umpires.
If a player absent from the field longer than 8 minutes then he cannot bowl until he able to do fielding in that match.
If player is absent longer than 8 minutes then he cannot bat until batting side loose 5 wickets.
Substitute players shall only enter to field in case of injury and illness.
Players who are not part of playing eleven or as substitute fielder needs to wear team training bib whilst on the playing area.
ICC Cricket Rules for Umpires
Umpire shall control the game according to the law and should be present 2 hours before schedule start of the game.
Umpires shall not be from the participating country and must be member of International panel.
In test match where DRS is used, third umpire will appoint and shall not from participating countries.
ICC shall appoint match referee for all matches. ICC match referee shall not be from participating country.
Neither team or any member have a right of objection to an umpire or match referee's appointment.
A umpire shall not change during the match unless he is injured or ill.
